Tecora has extensively researched the impact of loss, focusing primarily on complicated grief disorder. She has also personally experienced the loss of loved ones who made lasting impressions on her. Tecora was an introverted 10-year-old girl when her mother committed suicide. Without resources or guidance, she spent her childhood often suffering in silence. She also dealt with grief after the passing of her grandmother, who was the matriarch of the family and Tecora’s second mom.
Today, Tecora serves as a mental health advocate who shares healthy ways to deal with loss and trauma. She specializes in grief management among diverse groups. Through her work, Tecora helps professional women thrive by redefining and recreating their lives after personal loss. Tecora has been praised by attendees of her workshops for her candor and ability to talk about grief in a way that is understandable.
Tecora is the author of Surviving & Thriving After the L: 14 Effective Ways to Heal After Personal Loss. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Wayne State University and is a certified paralegal. Tecora resides in Michigan with her family.
